COORDINATOR OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS
The Orlando-Orange County Expressway Authority (OOCEA) is currently seeking applicants for a Coordinator of Public Affairs in the Public Relations and Communications Department. This position will report to the Manager and will be responsible for initiating and cultivating professional relationships with various local governments throughout the Central Florida region, elected officials, community leaders, transportation industry partners, professional organizations, and others in matters affecting the transportation and toll road industry.
Major responsibilities for this position include the following areas:

Establish and maintain on-going professional relationships with elected and public officials and develop and enhance network and relationships across a wide spectrum of business partners and stakeholders.
- Assist in the development and communication of transportation policies; interface with elected officials and local governments to ensure compatibility between transportation plans and local government comprehensive/development plans.
- Serve as the communicator of system wide planning policy and the liaison between the Executive Director to elected officials, transportation planning agencies and administrators, engineering and operations staff, local community organizations, and the general public.
This position requires a Bachelors' Degree in Communications, Political Science, Public Relations or related discipline. Prefer at least three years of professional level experience in government relations or public affairs. Experience related to the transportation or the toll road industry is a plus. Applicants must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills with a demonstrated knowledge of commonly used desktop applications. Must be able to represent the Expressway Authority in meetings and interact effectively with senior management, public officials, and the public.
