STATE ROAD 417 CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS

PROJECT: STATE ROAD 417 ROAD WIDENING BETWEEN THE SR 528 INTERCHANGE AND CURRY FORD ROAD OVERPASS

To reduce traffic congestion during peak travel times, the Orlando-Orange County Expressway Authority (OOCEA) is widening State Road 417 (Central Florida GreeneWay) from four to six lanes (three in each direction) between the State Road 528 (Beachline Expressway) interchange and Curry Ford Road. Improvements will also include the construction of new auxiliary lanes to improve access to SR 417 from Curry Ford Road and Lee Vista Boulevard. The roadway will also be resurfaced in this area. This project will also include nearly a mile of sound walls with decorative panels.

This 3.8 mile-long, $18.9 million, roadway widening project will began in February 2011 and is scheduled for completion in the spring of 2012.

More than 62,400 vehicles a day currently travel the stretch of SR 417. That traffic volume is expected to increase to nearly 135,500 vehicles a day by 2030.
