VIOLATION ENFORCEMENT
What happens to a driver who passes through a toll plaza without
paying the proper toll and getting a green light?
A digital image of the vehicle's license tag is recorded. Under Florida Law, this image can be used by the Expressway Authority to issue a Uniform Traffic Citation.
What should I do if the red light does not change to green when I enter the toll lane?
If you are in an E-PASS Only lane, do not stop. Notify the E-PASS Service Center as soon as possible. In the meantime, utilize "Change/Receipt" lanes or "Coin Lanes" and pay your toll in cash until the problem can be resolved.
What should I do if I receive a violation warning letter?
If you are an existing E-PASS
customer, contact the E-PASS Service Center immediately.
If you do not have E-PASS, call the Toll Enforcement
Office at 407-690-5200.
What should I do if I receive a uniform traffic citation (UTC) and I want to dispute it?
Download the UTC Dispute Request form, fill out the top portion and bring the form, the UTC, & your transponder within five days of receiving the citation to one of the E-PASS Service Centers located at:
762 S. Goldenrod Road
Orlando, FL 32822
-OR-
5050 W. Colonial Drive
Orlando, FL 32808
If you have any questions, please contact the Toll Enforcement office at 407-690-5200.
If my account balance drops to zero ($0.00), will my toll transactions be deducted once I put more money in my account?
Once your account balance drops to zero you are considered a violator. The light in the toll lane or on your transponder will remain red. In addition you will receive a letter from E-PASS alerting you to the fact your account has no money. To reinstate your account the Expressway Authority will deduct any unpaid tolls from your replenishment payment. If you fail to add more money to your account in a timely manner and you continue to violate, your account will be frozen and you will be turned over to the Violation Enforcement Office, which could ultimately issue a Uniform Traffic Citation.
